...Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of acupressure in terms of disability, pain scores, and functional status...Intervention Acupressure or physical therapy for one month... Acupressure was effective in reducing low back pain in terms of disability, pain scores, and functional status. The benefit was sustained for six months...The effect was not only seen in the short term but lasted for six months...Conclusions This randomised controlled clinical trial has shown the efficacy of acupressure compared with physical therapy in pain relief for patients with low back pain in terms of disability, pain scores, and functional status.

...Objective Chemotherapy commonly causes severe nausea and vomiting in cancer patients. Study ... scientists have discovered that acupressure may hold the solution to the problem... Conclusion Acupressure succeeded in preventing nausea and vomiting...the treatment worked for all (20/20) of the hospitalized patients and 75% (15/20) of outpatients... The researchers were so impressed by the results that they recommended that acupressure should be investigated in other clinical situations as well.

Study Acupressure may offer breast cancer patients help in alleviating the nausea caused by chemotherapy according to a report from the Institute for Health and Aging, University of California, San Francisco, USA... Result The results revealed significant differences between the women who received acupressure treatment and those who didn't. Within the first 10 days of the chemotherapy cycle, the women who received acupressure treatment had reported less intensity and experience of nausea... Conclusions The researchers concluded that finger acupressure may decrease nausea among women undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer...
